UK Minister for Investment Visits Medcaptain Headquarters

On December 1, Lord Stockwood, the UK Minister for Investment, led a high-level delegation to visit Medcaptain Headquarters. The delegation included Jack Hanson, Senior Private Secretary to the Minister; Lewis Neal, His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner (HMTC); Sarah Mann, Consul-General at the British Consulate-General in Guangzhou; Trevor Lewis, Head of Trade and Investment in South China; Mike McCourt, Deputy Director of DBT Life Sciences & Healthcare; and Emily Liang, Trade and Investment Manager for Life Sciences. Mr. Michael Zhong, Co-founder and Executive Vice President of Medcaptain, along with his team, warmly received the guests and held in-depth exchanges.

The delegation toured Medcaptain’s exhibition hall, where they observed the company’s latest advancements in core technological innovation, product and solution development, and global market operations. They highly praised Medcaptain’s robust R&D capabilities and comprehensive product portfolio, noting that its practices in international operations and resource collaboration were impressive.

In January 2022, Medcaptain completed the acquisition of Penlon, a globally renowned manufacturer of anaesthesia and respiratory equipment with an 80-year history, headquartered in Oxford, UK. Since then, Medcaptain has continued to invest, deeply integrating Penlon’s established brand heritage and specialised technology with Medcaptain’s global R&D, manufacturing, marketing, and operational support systems and experience.

The UK Department for Business and Trade (DBT) expressed great appreciation for this strategic move and integration outcome. DBT noted that the investment in and integration of Penlon was a strong demonstration of the international capabilities of Medcaptain. They also expressed their willingness to provide comprehensive support for the continued growth of Medcaptain and Penlon in the UK and European markets.
