As one of the leading providers of anaesthesia products and services in the UK, we have a vacancy for a Sourcing Manager to join our sourcing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supply chain management and sourcing activities.

Summary

The successful candidate will be a critical thinker and have demonstrable problem-solving skills; strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and networking skills; excellent negotiating skills; experience with SAP; advanced Microsoft Excel skills; good understanding of electronics, engineering, quality and project management; and be prepared to travel (domestic and international).

Main tasks

  • Define, plan and implement Penlon’s sourcing strategy.
  • Understand Penlon’s operational, engineering and quality needs and requirements, research and develop sources to meet these needs, and identify and recommend improvements.
  • Develop and maintain supplier partnerships.
  • Negotiate supplier agreements
  • Negotiate pricing and control costs.
  • Identify and develop alternate supply sources to meet the company’s strategic direction.
  • Identify and develop new methods/design changes to meet the company’s strategic direction.
  • Develop, set and measure supplier KPIs
  • Study market intelligence and conduct frequent market analysis and benchmarking to anticipate risk to supply and price, analyse and suggest improvement of overall sourcing strategy. Keep up to date on industry and market trends.
  • Work in collaboration with the function leaders to meet and exceed company goals.
  • Manage the sourcing team and future recruitment and set strategies and KPIs (departmental and individual) to meet strategic goals.
  • Set and manage budgets.
  • Set and maintain sourcing policies and procedures.
  • Oversee supplier approvals, ensuring all Penlon requirements are satisfied.
  • Visit suppliers (domestic and international), audit suppliers, deal with issues and escalations, and ensure suppliers meet and maintain the required regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure Penlon’s supply chain meets its Modern-Day Slavery and Sustainability requirements.
  • Engineering support and quality support (be the voice of the supplier).
