At Penlon we recognise that in our science and technology disciplines there is strong bias of men to women in our industry and there still remains a shortage of women pursuing careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). A challenged world is an alert world and individually we are all responsible to challenge where we see imbalance and also choose to seek out and celebrate women's achievement, helping to be a beacon of light and create a fairer and more inclusive world for future generations. To mark International Women’s Day, Mary Ryan, Penlon’s Director of Innovation Technology and Regulatory Affairs, shares a video on why we are excited and honoured to celebrate an outstanding line-up of women who recently led many aspects of the Ventilator Challenge UK. At Penlon we #ChooseToChallenge; and by continuing to challenge, we aim to bring about positive change. International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality. IWD has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not country, group or organization specific. This year the theme is #ChooseToChallenge.
