Summary
As one of the leading providers of anaesthesia products and services in the UK, we are looking for someone to join our expanding development team. We require someone to develop our next generation of electronic medical devices (anaesthetic machines/ventilators). Working in the New Product Development Department, the successful candidate will be responsible for electronics design and test from concept to production release.
Main tasks
- Schematics and PCB layout using EASY-PC and/or Altium designer software and/or PADs design software for both analogue and digital designs
- Creating detailed electronics design specifications
- Input in to design FMEA and risk assessment process for electronics and system designs
- Work within a team and assist in the development of software/firmware
- Maintain applicable project documentation, including project plans
- Undertake reviews of electronics designs, specifications or component evaluations
- Take ownership and lead on electronics design projects
- Undertake test and validation work, producing the required test protocols and final reports
- Work closely with electronics suppliers and manufacturers in defining best practice and suitable production and test procedures
- Contribute towards continuous improvements and review of departmental procedures
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company and departmental procedures
- Support Production with electronic build / fault issues on the build line
Professional requirements
- Degree / HNC or extensive experience in Electronic Engineering
- Extensive use of CAD software, preferably Altium or equivalent
- Hands on experience with soldering simple PCBa’s
- Excellent communication and people management skills
- Ability to work under pressure with multiple priorities
- Highly numerate and analytical
- Strong problem solving skills
- Proven planning, change management and organisation skills
