| The
Penlon Multivent is a gas-powered, electronically controlled
ventilator, that is designed specifically to operate in the
world's most challenging medical environments.
The ventilator
is robust, is designed to be reliable, very economical to
run and provides the user with many unique features and benefits.
It can accept any electricity supply in the world and is protected
from acceptable power surges by a built-in circuit breaker.
The internal battery will automatically keep the ventilator
running for at least 100 hours if there is a power cut. And,
the battery only needs to be recharged for one hour
to provide a minimum of 50 hours use.
- The
Multivent has a flexible approach to driving gas supply
and can be driven by any one of the following:
- Compressed
oxygen from a standard cylinder or from a pipeline supply. The
oxygen can be recycled to the patient circuit to give approximately
33% inspired oxygen.
- Compressed
air from a pipeline
- The
Penlon Multivent Power Pack - an air compressor, which runs
on mains electricity with its own back-up battery, that
will power the compressor for 24 hours.
A specially
adapted De Vilbiss Oxyvent Oxygen Concentrator can supply
compressed air to drive the ventilator, while simultaneously
delivering oxygen to the patient circuit.
The ventilator
is equally suitable for use with continuous flow anaesthetic
machines or draw-over vaporizers such as the Penlon OMV or
EMO. It is compatible with non-rebreathing and partial rebreathing
circuits such as the Bain, Ayres Tee-piece and circle system.
This highly
versatile ventilator can be used for automatic or manual ventilation
of patients from infants to to large adults in the operating
theatre, the intensive care unit, or in an ambulance. |
