Penlon Employee Takes World Title
World Cycle Speedway Championship
Steve Harris, who works in the Medical Gas Pipeline Division at Abingdon, was victorious in the Cycle Speedway World Championships in Adelaide last month in the Veteran Individual Class. Steve won all his races to win his second world championship - he was Senior Class World Champion in 1999.
Cycle speedway is a form of bicycle racing on short oval dirt tracks, usually outdoors, typically 70 – 90 metres long. Riders use machines without brakes or multiple gears, and the sport is popular in the UK, Poland, Australia, the Netherlands and the USA.
We would like to congratulate Steve on his fantastic achievement!
